Create the Perfect Blog Post and Open Your Eyes to the Untapped Potential of Blogging

Every now and then, we read a blog post that’s so good, not only do we read it, but we click it, share it, and recommend it to our friends.

Effective blog posts need to be cleverly written to attract the attention of busy readers, here are four steps you should follow to write an effective blog post.

1. Use a comprehensive content management system.

The first step to creating witty blog posts is to use the best content management system (CMS) available. Using a CMS gives you full flexibility and makes your work easier.

There are several options depending on your needs, including WordPress, Wix, Squarspace and Joomla!

  1. Include personalization elements and excellent imagery.

When including links from affiliate programs your content need to be personalized to your reader’s interest or you will never make a sale, and your post must be complemented with interesting graphics.

Nobody wants to read a blog post that simply provides a blob of text. Adding photos, or better, Photoshop manipulations, helps your readers to quickly understand what your blog post is all about.

  4. Congratulations with your Self-Published Novel! Have you ever thought about creating an SEO optimized website for the sole purpose of selling your book? Setting up a Facebook and Instagram page to publish your own quotes and marketing material also goes a long way (check out , Paulo Coelho has a lot of subscribers, but he should publish more quotes as these reach a wider audience). Getting people to write and post reviews and sharing those on Goodreads are all good strategies that form part of your magical marketing recipe πŸ˜‰


  5. Reviews are hard to get, but I encourage my readers to leave one if they can.
    I mentioned starting a website for selling my novel in a post of yours from earlier in the week. WordPress recommends Blue Host, so I may try that. I have a Facebook author page but it isn’t focused on publishing quotes. Do you mean quotes from my novel?

  6. Yes quotes from your novels are perfect, any quote you come up with is fine as long as it’s original. Go to Google or any other search engine to download a background and use a program like Photoscape to easily paste the quote on top of your image. You will quickly generate a steady stream of followers this way as original content quickly becomes viral, you solely have to insist for a few months in order to gain traction.
    Make sure not to publish more than 1 to 2 posts daily, somehow Facebook will reduce exposure if you publish more often, I guess this has to do with the mindset that quality and quantity do not go hand in hand. Reviews are not as hard to get as you might think, you can find excellent writers on sites such as Reddit and Quora. High quality reviews from professional writers are created to stimulate curiosity and provoke interaction, both properties that will soon proof beneficial for your sales.
    Also, if you are going to setup a site solely for the purpose of promoting your blog make sure to SEO optimize it for the search engines, structure is everything and without organic search traffic you will have a very hard time generating sales. Hope this helps πŸ˜‰
